Change Is Constant …

In today’s competitive world, transformation – finding new methods are what leaders have identified as a need to survive and grow.

Competition is fierce and technology only abets this since it changes so quickly and becomes a challenge to maintain skill sets that enable expectations of clients. Here are some ideas that might help:

Have a Vision statement that is different from your Mission Statement. One’s vision statement should document what the business will do in the next few years. Revisiting this Vision, on a regular basis, with all concerned  (clients and staff),  identifying that  the direction and pace are in sync with expectations whilst solving challenges that arise along the way.

Implement a sales methodology that ensures “branding” is repeated and ensuring all personnel follow a process – thereby avoiding surprises, measuring and improving outcomes.

Acquiring and cultivating talent helps ensure continued success. Identify soft skills that are important to the organizationi and ensure that prospective candidates ‘fit’ in with company culture. Invest in ongoing skills development.

Engage the team with the passion of your company’s goals. Listen. Communicate success. Regular meetings and acknowledgments go a long way.

Identify your “value” that differentiates you from the competition – what makes you different, especially in the area of solving a client’s business problem.

Start ‘conversations’ that could bring about new opportunities – engage in thought leadership. Scripting helps one and all to represent the same message.

Assess, step back – identify core competencies. Have a methodology in place that is effective and repeatable.

Start with ‘small morsels’, do not blindly follow/copy-cat the competition.

Change is the only Constant. It is difficult. Leading (implement change) is even harder.

Change has a cyclical trend of ups and downs continuously. Accept it pleasantly with good leadership, skills and commitment, and you will succeed.

However, you have got to incorporate CHANGE over a period of time.
