Every Business Needs These Pieces Of Branding

Human beings are a visual species, that’s just a fact of nature. We’ve evolved to pick up on colours and images in the same way many animals are built to pick up on sound and smells. This means that when you’re trying to promote your business, there really is no underestimating how important it is that you create as strong and distinct a visual brand as possible.

Few things are more important to a business than its brand and the mistake that many businesses make is that they assume that, as long as they present their branding in at least one place, then that’s going to be enough. If you really want to build that all-important sense of recognition in a customer’s minds, then you need to be able to put your branding out into the world in as many ways as possible. Of course, some methods are always going to be more effective than others so here are a few places that every business needs to be presenting their brand.

Online

It might not be the only place where your business exists, but there’s no denying that the internet is one of the most common methods through which customers discover and interact with many modern businesses. If they’re trying to find a particular product or service, then it’s pretty likely that the first thing they’re going to do is search on Google for it. That means that your website or social media profile could well be the very first exposure that they have toy our business. With that being the case, there’s no doubt that your branding needs to be top notch throughout all of your online presence. Not only that but it needs to be consistent. If your website’s banners and colour scheme are completely different from the ones on your social media pages, then customers are going to either feel confused, or they’re going to assume that it’s two different businesses entirely. Either way, it’s hardly the best first impression.

Business events

When it comes to face to face interactions, business events and trade shows are more effective than just about anything else at bringing in new customers. Of course, the only way you’re going to be able to do that is through impressive, consistent branding. Standing out from the very literal crowd at trade shows is one of the biggest challenges for your business and making your branding as distinct as possible is crucial for this. Custom flags and banners, as well as branding on every aspect of your exhibition stand,  are all great ways to catch someone’s eye, even across a crowded exhibition hall. This is especially true if your branding is consistent across all of your platforms. That way customers might have seen your business online, and that recognition is automatically going to help you stand out.

Your store

It might seem a little redundant to focus on branding in your store itself, after all, if customers are in your store then surely your branding has already done its job. This is a pretty shallow assumption for a couple of reasons. For one thing, it assumes that new customers are the only people that you should care about. By making sure that your branding is consistent everywhere from your shop front to the bags that you package products in, you can be sure that customers are going to walk away with your business’s identity firmly planted in their minds. Not only that but it’s a great way for customers who may have wandered into your business, without knowing what it is, remember you, even from a single visit.
