What does your company do? We assist companies/organizations by  finding  senior-level top notch Finance & Accounting talent.  We do this for direct-hire and project work. Geographically we focus primarily in  Orange County, CA

Was there a specific turning point when you realized your business was moving to the next level? We weathered the economic crisis quite successfully and our business has been growing steadily.Over the last one year, we have realized that we may be poised for significant strategic growth opportunities.

What processes or procedures have you implemented that have helped grow your company? For a small company, we have well thought out policies and procedures in place, including efficient  marketing and back office operations.  In addition to hosting  and attending several Networking events, we pride ourselves on strong connections and knowing our clients and candidates very well.

What is most rewarding about running your business? There is truly something special and rewarding about placing the right person into the right job  with the  right company.  Cultural fit is key, and is responsible for a long and successful placement. This has a positive multiplier impact at several levels . The candidate is gainfully employed in an environment that he or she enjoys, and the company benefits tremendously

What challenges have you faced and how have you overcome them? After spending several years in Finance, I did not realize the level of intensity and pace that executive  recruiting  demands. Often clients call us when there already is a crisis, and they are looking for a quick solution.  I invest an extraordinary amount of time getting to know both the clients and candidates to ensure a good placement.  However success is not guaranteed for various reasons – the business need may suddenly change or candidates get cold feet at the eleventh hour.  Patience, persistence, service and follow up are the key.

If you were starting over today, what would you do differently? This is a tough question to answer, as situations can vary greatly. It is important not to let the pressures of a start up get in the way of the core business. It helps to have a really strong plan and work the plan.

What advice do you have for other business owners? In my experience, service is paramount.  It is not only important to serve when you are trying to sell, but what is more important is how we respond when things do not go our way. This determines the character of the person, and the company. People do business with those who they trust and like, so be direct and transparent. This builds trust and loyalty.
