Richard Dugan is host of ‘Tell Me Your Story”,
NEW PARADIGMS FOR A NEW WORLD…
To bring as many different points of view, from around the circle, into your view, to assist you in expanding your life and living. To assist in the positive evolution of mankind and bringing about a greater awareness of self and others in order to create the kind of world YOU want. A world in which we all can search for, find and fulfill our ‘first best destiny’.
GIVING YOU CHOICES AND KNOWLEDGE OF THOSE CHOICES TO MAKE YOUR DREAMS COME TRUE…
You deserve to know ‘the truth’ about who you are, because that ‘truth will set you free’. Knowing your past is fine. Knowing who you are now is greater. And knowing who you want to be and how to bring about that transformation is what ‘Tell Me Your Story’ is about.
THE ONE THING YOU HAVE TO GAIN…IS…THE NEW WORLD YOU WANT!
Since September, 2007 he has been producing TMYS, available at richarddugan.com/radioshow.
His dream is to syndicate ‘Tell Me Your Story’ and take it on the road. Traveling to all parts of the world, talking with people who are living, working and playing in new ways that are changing the world, one person at a time.
Richard, aka Rev. Dr. D., has been interviewing 1980, talking with thousands of; authors, musicians, light workers, metaphysicians, spiritualists, co-creators, body, mind and light workers, new thought people, visionaries, revolutionaries, innovators.
We all have a story and his is no greater or lesser than yours. Born and raised in Phoenix, Arizona. Legally blind from birth. In spite or because of that, he went through 13 years of school not knowing what he wanted to do and so he went to Community College and worked in the AV Department. He found out about a job with ‘Sun Sounds’ Radio Reading Service, for the blind and visually impaired. Not only became a client, he started working there August 29, 1979 and never “looked” back.
On March 6, 1996, he received a lens implant and went from 20/200 or worse to 20/80 overnight. Within just a few months, he was learning to drive a car. A dream he had given up in acceptance of the way he was, legally blind. And that was ‘ok’. Bicycling was just fine. Then his marriage of 15 years came to an end and he met Amrita Ma. They married and moved to her hometown of Santa Barbara and both started a new life 5 minutes for her childhood home.
He’s been to Ireland twice and dreams of living there one day very soon.
He dreamed he would drive, travel to far away places, share the love with someone with a very open, loving heart, live by the sea, have his own radio show, teach others the craft, meeting new and exciting souls. He is working on 2 books and more.
The Title of Your Book?
Choices, 5 steps for life
Why did you write the book?
I am many want a better world that works for everyone, not just a select few.
And when my wife, Amrita, was diagnosed with cancer, I wanted to give her something to focus on to keep her moving forward towards a cancer free life.
Post script: She has been cancer free since.
What was your biggest surprise or aha moment when writing your book?
During the editing, I was moved by some of the materials I had written 20 years earlier. It spoke to the fact that I still hold these concepts to this day.
Who is your ideal audience for the book?
Anyone who is struggling to find a balance, purpose, focus in their lives.
Tell us, how do you deal with fear?
Reminding myself 90% of what we fear never happens and that there is much to be grateful for. And that I am not alone and if I need help, I can ask for it.
Tell us, how do you deal with rejection?
Don’t take it personally. Know I am perfect as I am and as I continue to put myself out there, I will attract those people and situations that are best for my life.
Tell us two concepts or ideas you want the reader to takeaway?
That we all have choices no matter where we are.
There are no victims. We are where we are because of all the choices we have made in the past up to the present. And all the choices you make from this day forward, are based upon your perception of what you think your future will be.
Name one of the biggest challenges you have faced writing your book and how did you overcome it?
Procrastination.
Recognizing that the book will be finished when the universe makes a way. And it did! And here we are.
What’s a personal self-talk, mantra, affirmation, or self-belief that contributes to your success?
1. Recognizing I am in the right place at the right time when I listen to and follow ‘My Friends’ promptings.
2. Work with what you have until you get what you want.
How can people contact you?

To my siblings Jeannette, Cecelia, Michael, Elaine and Mary, who continue teaching me, and loving me, thank you.
To the Universe for the infinite number of ‘choices’ available to us all to create the life we truly desire. And for all the incredible experiences I’ve had that have made me the person I am.
