Coca-Cola is set to cut 2,200 jobs globally as the pandemic accelerates its restructuring plans. In the U.S., some 1,200 roles are expected to disappear through a combination of layoffs and buyouts, equivalent to about 12% of its workforce. The closure of restaurants, bars, cinemas and stadiums due to the coronavirus has hit the Atlanta beverage giant’s sales, according to the company. Its profit in the most recent quarter fell about a third from a year ago.
