GoFundMe Exceeds $350K for TJ Sabula, Man Who Heckled Donald Trump

The worker, identified as TJ (Thomas) Sabula, was employed at Ford’s Dearborn Truck Plant in Michigan when the incident occurred on January 13, 2026. During a visit by President Donald Trump to the facility — a trip primarily meant to spotlight economic policies and the U.S. manufacturing sector — Sabula loudly called out the president with the phrase “pedophile protector.” According to reporting, this comment was in reference to ongoing controversy and criticism over Trump’s handling of the release of files related to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

A viral video of the moment shows Trump reacting angrily to Sabula’s comment by using profane language and making a middle finger gesture in Sabula’s direction — a clip that quickly spread across social media and news outlets.

Following the incident, Ford Motor Company suspended Sabula, and the United Auto Workers (UAW) union confirmed that the suspension was under review as part of the company’s standard disciplinary process. In response, supporters quickly launched two GoFundMe campaigns to help him cover living expenses during the suspension. These campaigns surged rapidly, raising over $350,000 in donations within 24 hours from thousands of individual contributors, reflecting widespread public support for Sabula’s political expression and drawing national attention to the incident.
