The best way to implement SEO is firstly to set yourself a measurable goal (making sure your objective complies with SMART) then spend some time looking at the bigger picture, which you can break down into acquisition, conversion, retention and engagement. These aspects of your marketing all contain SEO elements that you can adopt to ensure that you reach your search engine ranking objectives.

If you are a local Australian company, for example, then you may want to consider looking at a number of local SEO tips, as well as internet marketing in Perth. In addition, there are a number of content based tactics and techniques you can implement which can help you reach your goal.

Content Creation

The best way to think about how Google ranks websites is that it never ranks companies, it ranks content and other attributing website factors. Put yourself in the shoes of your target audience, when they are searching for your product or service (your brand search terms are a little different), what information are they seeking? Once you have this, you can then set about creating content that will help answer these questions and queries. The main bulk of the work is not in creating the content but in researching what your target audience wants to know.

Content Promotion

Now you have created the content that your target audience wants to see, the next tip is to try and promote this in the best way (or ways) possible. What good is great content, when no one knows of its existence? There are a number of different platforms in which you can develop and distribute content. These are:

  • Social Media: You can use one, or a variety, of social media platforms in order to reach socially to your target audience. If you already have a presence on a social media platform then you can post and share your content here, driving both the promotion of your content, but also the engagement and conversations around the content in which you have shared and posted.
  • Outreach:  If you have built up a relationship with other websites, publications or influencers within your industry, then why not let them know about your new content? Ask them to read it, review it or even share their views on it. These outreach technique is ideal for generating more interest in your brand, but is also great for SEO.
  • Public relations: This is another way in which you can distribute and promote your content. What is more, it works a little like outreach. However, the big difference is that PR firms often have a bigger pool of contacts they can share your content with, widening your distribution and promotion net.
