Karen Neola is owner and founder of My Perfect Pet, the first company to launch cooked frozen pet food nationally. Heartbroken at the loss of her beloved lab, Hunter, and angry to learn that it was caused by contaminated pet food that was subsequently recalled in March 2007, she embarked on a mission to formulate pet foods that were based solely on pet’s nutritional needs using used only fresh, whole, natural ingredients. Focused on safety, she followed human food safety standards which included cooking meats to minimum temperatures recommended by FDA for food safety. She is quoted regularly in industry press, speaks at seminars on the relationship between pet diet and health, and has received an award for being a “Woman of Influence” in the pet food industry.
