Canada Approves Pot for Play

Canada on Wednesday becomes the first G7 country to legalize and regulate marijuana

 for recreational use. Although some U.S. states have legalized cannabis, federally it is still illegal. The Canadian Cannabis Act allows adults 18 years or older to possess up to 30 grams of legal cannabis in its fresh or dried form, in public. Quebec is expected to open 12 outlets and Alberta could have fewer than 24. Ontario won’t have any stores selling marijuana but consumers will be able to buy cannabis online from federally-licensed producers. Uruguay is the only other country in the world where cannabis is fully legal
