AUGUST 2, 2021 – LOS ANGELES, CA – Estrella Media has tapped Palmira Perez, an EMMY® award-winning news journalist based in Los Angeles, to be the anchor for its national nightly news show “Noticiero EstrellaTV.” In addition to her national TV role, she will anchor the KRCA Los Angeles midday news and the Estrella News digital broadcast “24 Horas.” KRCA is Estrella Media’s flagship Los Angeles station. Estrella News 24/7 streaming digital news network can be seen on Samsung TV Plus, the Roku Channel, Pluto TV, Amazon Fire, Vizio Smartcast, Xumo, Comcast Xfinity, and Tubi.

Perez is a five-time EMMY® and four-time Golden Mike award-winning journalist who has been recognized for her feature reporting, special news reports, and investigative journalism during her career. Her career includes national and local news anchor positions, as well as local news reporter positions. She was the National Anchor for Mundo Max’s “MundoMax al Instante” and was a local news reporter at KWHY-Channel 22/NBC-Telemundo in Los Angeles and Mundo Fox. She most recently was News Anchor and Reporter for Univision’s KDTV-Channel 14 in San Francisco and News Anchor and Reporter for Univision’s KMEX-Channel 34 in Los Angeles.
She holds a law degree from the University of Guadalajara (Universidad de Guadalajara) in Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico. She is a former member of CCIME (Council Board of the Institute of Mexicans Abroad), is a board member of the University of Guadalajara Foundation, and a President of the Los Angeles Alumni Association of the University of Guadalajara (Asociación de Egresados de la U de G). In addition, she is a senior talent mentor in TalentBlvd and is on the Board of Directors of Japan House in Los Angeles. She is from Guadalajara and lives in Los Angeles.
