Hosting a Corporate Event

If you are charged with the task of planning a corporate event for the company you work for, then there is a significant amount of strategy that goes into the preparation. Consider using rental companies who will supply some of the items you might need for the event. For example, you might need a tent or consider this outdoor marquee hire for an outdoor summer event. There are also portable tiered seating and a portable toilet rental if you will be holding the event outdoors. Renting one is easy, and often, the supplier will provide delivery and set up, allowing you to check that task off of your list with minimal effort. So if you need custom retractable seats, make sure to contact reliable suppliers. There are other specialized events that they can help with as well.

Meetings

If you are holding a larger than normal meeting then there might be some extra things you will need. Podiums, large screen tv’s, projectors, and coffee service are just some of the items on the list to make your next meeting really stand out. You don’t want any old stale muffins or donuts out of the box with the meeting’s coffee. Try to think outside of the box a bit. How about some nice French Macaroons from your local high end bakery? Or a commercial coffee machine rental instead of regular pantry coffee? If it’s later in the day, and your team needs a larger snack during the long meeting, how about mini-sliders from your local gastropub? They are sure to be the hit of the meeting. Who doesn’t love a mini-cheeseburger. Or throw your meeting in an unconventional place like a movie theatre or an old fashioned picnic meeting at the park. Sometimes when you plan things out of the ordinary it really gets people’s creative juices flowing.

Conventions

Longer conventions for your company take months and months of planning. They usually require a location scout, and someone who can handle all the details with their own convention expertise. If you choose a convention type hotel in a big city such as Las Vegas, those hotels are used to larger conventions, and take out a lot of the work you have to do. Deciding on an agenda for the convention is a good idea, and a tight schedule to follow usually works best. For your platform, modular staging is the best option as it’s easy to store away.

Gala Events or Fundraisers

If your corporate event is a large lavish party or gala then you might consider hiring a special event planner like DC corporate event planner to help you with the details. A hotel ballroom, banquet room, or other party rental space is best to hold this extra special event. Getting a barista hire to make good coffee for your guests will be a good addition to your event. You don’t want to have a gala in the conference room at your office, it just doesn’t work. Think of other areas that you might be able to hold a large party such as your local botanical gardens, Natural History Museum, or Art Museum. Many places like these have large areas where they regularly plan big events. Preston Bailey a well known event planner from the Huffington Post said that lighting is one of the most overlooked details of an event, and truly add to the atmosphere. So make sure you plan accordingly.

Team Building Exercises

Planning a corporate event with the goal of building your team company spirit is a fun one to have at your local zoo, eco adventure or amusement park. Just getting outside of the office for one day to do something fun as a group is an exciting way to build up your team. Even a day at the ballpark for a baseball game is a good way to have a team building outing that everyone will enjoy. Hot dogs, and drinks for everyone!
