How To Prevent Your iPad From Getting Stolen

The iPad is perhaps the world’s favourite tablet. It forms part of the Apple ecosphere and makes it easy to transfer files and images across iPhones and Macs. These days, one can buy an Apple iPad in various formats from the little Mini to the large Pro.

It’s no secret that the iPad is at the premium end of the tablet market. And it’s also a sad fact that many people opt for stealing them instead of saving up to buy one. If you’re an iPad owner, you will no doubt be quite worried about someone taking your pride and joy. You may also be wary of damaging your iPad. Thankfully, you can bring your device to an ipad repair shop in case it gets damaged or stops working.

The good news is that there are plenty of steps you can take to prevent your tablet ending up in the wrong hands. In today’s handy guide, I will give you a run-through of some actionable steps you can carry out right now. Before you get started, many people often buy ipads and let their children use it to distract them for a little bit and that can be a bit risky since they are very likely to drop it or even leave it in the wrong places allowing it to get damaged. This is why you should always have a case on it to keep it protected at all times, but if it does crack a little bit, don’t worry, getting an ipad repair is not as complicated as you think.

Disguise the fact you own an iPad

Don’t be one of “those” people that flashes around their iPad wherever they go. Otherwise, you may as well put a Post-It note on the back of it that says “steal me”!

Be sure to keep your iPad in a Smart Case or similar. A thief would rather steal an expensive iPad than a budget brand tablet. Disguising the device you’ve got means they won’t risk targeting you.

On the move? Keep it stored in a lockable bag

When you’re taking your iPad out and about, you should keep it stored in a lockable bag. That way, you can keep it out of sight and add an extra layer of security to it.

There are plenty of examples on the market, such as the excellent Pacsafe. Even a lockable briefcase is better than nothing at all!

Install tracking software

By default, you can enable Apple’s own “Find my iPad” app to keep tabs on it if someone were to steal it. But, despite Apple’s good intentions, it doesn’t always do a good job of helping you locate your iPad.

There are plenty of solutions to help track stolen iPad tablets. It just comes down to which ones are a good fit for your needs.

Engrave before you buy

When you buy a brand new iPad from Apple, you can take advantage of the firm’s engraving service. You can have your name and contact details engraved on it.

A thief is less likely to steal an engraved iPad. Why? Because it’ll look obvious it’s a stolen tablet when they try to sell it on the black market! Even if you’ve already bought your iPad, some firms offer engraving services for a small fee.

Don’t use your iPad in public places

Are you tempted to take your tablet to the beach with you? Maybe you’d like to use it when you’re having a picnic in the park? I recommend leaving your iPad at home instead of taking it to public places.

If you need to go online, you can always use your smartphone on the go. After all; they are easier to conceal on your person.
