Why Did You Become an Entrepreneur, Speaker, Author, Etc. in the First Place?

When I was about 6 years old, I started having many acne breakouts. I was being made fun of by many kids and I started to feel very insecure about my own face. My dad has some background in skincare and we knew some dermatologists and estheticians. I told my dad that I wanted a product to start using to get rid of my bumps on my face. We started searching for products and every time my Dad read a label he would tell me that it was not safe for my skin, even the ones that were labeled for kids. I was so frustrated and every day that passed I was starting to lose my self-confidence. I asked him if there was something that he or my mom could make for me. That was the start of our journey.

It took us about a year to research and formulate the first round of cleansers. When I started to use the Tblast, many of my friends and my parents friends started to notice that my acne was gone. Many of them asked what we were using. We didn’t have a name yet, so I asked my dad if we can bottle it and sell it to my friends, and that is how Kidskin was born. And the rest is history…

My dad and I found ourselves going to trade shows and pitching the product to dermatologists, and I loved that they were listening. Once I had it on social media, kids were reaching out to me and telling me about the amazing results they were getting. Now it is my mission to grow Kidskin and continue to create new skin care products for kids of all ages.

How Do You Deal With Fear?

Fear comes and goes, I know that my mission is to help people with self-confidence and self love through healthy skincare. When I am nervous, I try to reflect on the good and I pray for the strength to get me through the moment. I am aware that fear is temporary and that my good intentions will get me through it.

How Do You Deal With Rejection?

We are a young company and I understand that rejection is a natural progression of our growth. If we get rejected right now it just means that we will have another opportunity to get accepted in the future. My motto is everything happens for a reason.

Name One of the Biggest Challenges You Have Faced and How Did You Overcome It?

One of the biggest challenges I have faced is brand awareness, my dad and I started with a small budget, my parents had to borrow money from credit cards, and from my grandfather, just to by inventory so we did not have money for advertising or marketing. It was my responsibility to spread the word on social media without being able to by ads. I was almost 8 years old and I had to learn how to use Facebook and Instagram to post my videos. I was lucky that parents and kids my age loved my content and we started to gain followers. I had the opportunity to meet professionals of www.bareluxe.ca site who own one of the most renowned skincare brands, were very impressed with my effort and wanted to hear my story. After that, on a big platform, I was also able to tell the other estheticians and dermatologists about my brand and my experience behind making my skincare line. Currently, we are on Tiktok, Instagram, and Facebook. We sell on Amazon.com, Walmart.com, Kidskin.com, and coming soon Riteaid.com

I personally feel so much comfort when I tell myself, it will all fall into God’s plan. Even though sometimes it might feel as if you are riding up and down a hill with many bumps, I know that everything happens for a reason. I try to remember that through all of these experiences. I will be even stronger by learning from them. I use this mindset when working on Kidskin as well. Sometimes things for our company might not go the way we want them to, however, I will remember that big and successful outcomes take time.
