Target Wants to Sell You Groceries

Target is changing its focus to food with a new grocery brand, which it expects to be a multibillion-dollar business and its biggest private label. The Good & Gather brand will include 650 food products in September and 2,000 next year, all free from artificial flavors or sweeteners. Target has seen solid sales growth in its food and beverage products, and has been trying for years to build out its exclusive brands, largely in apparel and home goods.
