Twitter Suspends QAnon Accounts

Twitter suspends QAnon accounts

Twitter has taken down thousands of accounts spreading a conspiracy theory known as QAnon and blocked affiliated links from its platform, saying the content violated its policies and could cause harm. The move, which stems from related issues with harassment and misinformation, will affect about 150,000 accounts, a spokesperson told NBC News. While Twitter is the first social media service to do so, Facebook plans to take similar steps, The New York Times reports, citing anonymous sources.
