Wild is the beautiful and heartwarming story of a recovering drug addict, Cheryl Strayed, who went on an epic journey of self-discovery across America, after her mother’s passing. While she didn’t have any recent experience in backpacking and solo travel, Strayed was still able to survive and conquer the unforgiving 1,000-mile Pacific Crest Trail on her own and with flying colors. Filmed in Oregon’s Crater Lake National Park and other picturesque places, Wild also immortalized the splendor and appeal of America’s hiking trails.
