Why did you write the book?
Change Your Aura, Change Your Life” is the foundational book of Spiritual Arts Institute (https://spiritualarts.org/). It tells the world what we do. We meditate with divine light, and you meditate with divine light to change your aura. Once the energetic facets of your aura change, there’s a corresponding change in your life.

What was your biggest surprise or aha moment when writing your book?
When we started writing it, we thought we were going to write a book about the aura, because it’s called “Change your Aura, Change Your Life.” We actually realized, “What we’re really doing is we’re writing a book on meditation using the aura.” That was the fundamental surprise.

Who is your ideal audience for the book?
Anybody who’s had a spiritual awakening and is looking to improve their life or evolve their soul.

Tell us, how do you deal with fear?
Transmute it. Face the fear. Fear in the aura shows up as a gray, devitalizing energy. You need to confront the fear and replace that gray energy with a gold light of confidence.

Tell us, how do you deal with rejection?
You have to take rejection like anything else. If that door was never meant to be open for you, why are you constantly trying to knock it down? Don’t take it personally. Keep strong with what you know are the things you need to do and keep pursuing till the right door is open.

Tell us two concepts or ideas you want the reader to takeaway?
A) That you have control over your life. Don’t become a victim of your life. You can change anything in your life if you start directing divine light where you want to make those changes.
B) You have this tremendous spiritual inner part of you. The world is the outer garment of the inner life, and the more you’re connecting with the inner life, the more your outer life will fall into place.

Name one of the biggest challenges you have faced writing your book and how did you overcome it?
Well, I like to joke — working with Barbara, the encyclopedia, the Mozart of metaphysics, I thought the book would write itself. It took two years to write the original version. We’ve done several updated editions. Finding a voice that speaks to somebody who may know nothing about what we’re doing — that was the challenge in writing it. But once we found that voice, then everything flowed beautifully.

We found that voice through trial and error and had to keep working at it until a little inspiration struck. It actually started to fall into place once we understood we were writing a book on meditation. We had so much material, and sometimes it’s not what you put in a book, it’s what you don’t put in a book. And because you have to organize it, there has to be a thesis, a theme that runs through the whole book.

What’s a personal self-talk, mantra, affirmation, or self-belief that contributes to your success?
Your passport to eternity is the divine light you earn.
