CFOs2GO Adds New Partner and Expands its Start-up and Rapid Growth Practice


CFOs2GO, a leading provider of executive expertise on an interim and consulting basis and recruitment for direct hire part- and full-time positions, is pleased to welcome Rodney Smith as a new partner of the firm.

Rodney is the co-lead partner for clients in our start-up, rapid growth and pre-exit or IPO practice area.

When I established CFOs2GO in 1986, I observed that startups and small/medium businesses had all the financial complexities and challenges of large firms having full-time CFOs but seldom had the resources for a full-time hire.  They would generally employ a bookkeeper and hire a part-time accountant but there wasn’t a way for them to get the strategic financial planning and guidance of an experienced CFO.  Building with an entrepreneurial culture and passion for varied challenges of a wide range of financial specialties; e.g., mergers & acquisition, international finance, venture capital, business valuation, CFOs2GO sought to serve startups, small- and medium –sized businesses with “short- and long-term, part-time” consulting CFOs.

CFOs2GO quickly attracted like-minded CFOs seeking value in a team of specialists collegially committed to growing its client base and bringing new areas of specialty finance to the firm.  There are now partners specializing in 26 practice areas that include specific industries and specialized financial knowledge.  The firm also added recruiting services in 1987 to become one of the first hybrid consulting/staffing companies.  This unique approach allows professional experienced CFOs to be guiding a business’ financial operation while referring and recommending qualified candidates for permanent positions, all selected with a detailed and long term knowledge of the business’ culture and business plan.  The best possible candidate with career growth potential is always put forward reducing hiring risk and the cost of missed opportunities while  dramatically increasing employee retention.
