Small Business Applauds Abbott’s Commonsense ‘Retail-to-Go’ Strategy

AUSTIN (April 17, 2020) — Annie Spilman, NFIB’s state director for Texas, released the following statement today in response to Governor Abbott’s executive order allowing non-essential businesses to begin reopening next Friday under a “retail-to-go” model:

“Our members truly appreciate Governor Abbott’s commonsense approach to reopening Texas’s economy. ‘Retail-to-go’ is a responsible way to let merchants reopen and reconnect with customers while minimizing contact and maintaining social distancing. NFIB looks forward to working with the governor’s Strike Force to Open Texas and helping develop plans to safely restart the economy and allow people to get back to work.”
